Some important rules for practicing Pranayam.

  1. Pranayam should always be practice in a clam, peaceful and clean environment, if possible near water.
  2. In cities the surroundings are polluted so before practicing any kind of breathing exercise burn Grita or Guggul and fill the place with fragrance. If possible light a lamp with clarified butter.
  3. The mat or seat for pranayam should be bad conductor of heat, use blanket or Kusha etc.But it should not be too soft.
  4. For some reasons if you are unable to sit on the floor, you can practice sitting on a chair, couch or bed.But always sit straight.
  5. During practice always breath through nostrils.This with help in filtering the air and maintain body temperature.
  6. Always practice pranayam after five hours of taking meals.
  7. Always eat pious, simple and non-oily food, milk, fruits, and ghee, vegetables, sprouted grains.This will help in clearing your system properly and you will get the most benefits out of Pranayam practice.
  8. While practicing Pranayam keep your eyes, mouth nose and other organs in their natural state.Your neck, spine, chest, and hips should be absolutely straight.
  9. Your mind should be happy and clam while practicing pranayam.Done under stress can worsen your condition.That is why a clean and peaceful environment is very important
  10. Pranayam should be practice according to season and body condition.Beacuse some increase you body temperature, some give coolnes, whereas some are normal.
  11. During practice if u feel dizzy or tired, take five or six normal breath and rest for sometime.
  12. If stomach does not get cleared in the morning then take Trifala churna with hot water at bed time. If not working with Trifala churna you may try Divya Churna, Udarkalp Churna etc..
    ( Never practice Kapalbhati without clearing your stomach,It will increase your body toxins level which result in different problems.)
